Melendez Theatre and Entertainment Company (MTEC) is a place of inspiration, growth, fun and skill building. We pride ourselves in teaching essential acting techniques and helping our ensemble develop interpersonal skills.

Artistic Director

Odry Melendez

Odry Melendez, the founder of Melendez Theatre & Entertainment Co. is a bilingual school teacher, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, and has extensive experience in drama teaching and directing.

She has acted, written and directed for the stage for the past 20 years.

Mrs. Melendez believes that the youth of today are the thought leaders of tomorrow and this comes through in her teaching.

Michael Collier Melendez

Michael was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. His love for the stage began at the age of 4 with Mrs. Melendez’s first production ever, Pinocchio. Once he moved to the USA in 2014, he joined the North Carolina Theatre Conservatory where he would continue to further harness his acting, singing, and dancing. He now attends Elon University with a Drama and Theatre studies major. His philosophy is helping the future leaders of this world grow into kind, humble, confident adults while nurturing their incredible talents and is based on inclusivity, positive reinforcement, the value of community and respect for one another.
